Each piece is selected for its visual character, decorative strength, and connection to the printed past — from natural history plates and botanical studies to illustrated bookplates, engravings, lithographs, and unusual collectible paper.
Whenever a piece is mounted or matted by AJ | Gilded, it is presented using archival, reversible methods designed to protect the paper itself. We use acid-free materials and mounting techniques that keep adhesive off the artwork. Just as importantly, we do not break intact books for plates; our pieces come from already-separated plates, incomplete or damaged volumes, prior collections, or loose material acquired as such.
Our goal is simple: to offer tasteful, display-ready art and collectibles while preserving them responsibly for the next generation.
