A wonderfully colorful gallery of five original antique parrot engravings, featuring rich botanical greens, brilliant blues, and vivid accents of scarlet and gold. The long-tailed military macaw provides a dramatic centerpiece, while four complementary tropical birds create a beautifully cohesive collection for a study, library, or thoughtfully layered gallery wall.
Originally hand-colored for Carl Wilhelm Hahn’s (1786–1835) Ornithologischer Atlas, published in Nuremberg between 1834 and 1841. This ambitious German ornithological work devoted its largest illustrated section to parrots, with 80 plates documenting species from around the world.
Each sheet measures approximately 5 × 8.25 inches. Lifestyle images depicting the prints in a home setting are renderings - these prints are being sold loose, unmatted, and unframed as a curated set of 5.
