The layered presentation gives the trio a finished, cohesive presence while allowing the warm antique paper, monochrome linework, and French typography to remain the focus. Offered together and unframed.

Dating from 1804–1806, the engravings depict a comparative study of mushroom forms and structures, the flowering Bohemian olive, and a botanical plate illustrating sesame and Incarvillea. Fine intaglio linework, numbered anatomical details, and carefully organized compositions give each plate its own identity while keeping the set visually unified.

The plates were published within the botanical continuation to Buffon’s Histoire naturelle, issued by F. Dufart as part of C. S. Sonnini’s expanded natural-history series. Drawn by Jacques-Eustache de Sève and engraved by Letellier, Delvaux, and Blanchon, they reflect the early nineteenth-century intersection of botanical observation, classification, and specialist printmaking.
