This antique Scandinavian storage jar is hand-turned from wood and decorated with traditional painted folk motifs in deep green and black over a warm, aged wood surface. The form and decoration are characteristic of Swedish folk art utility wares made in the late 19th to early 20th century, often used for dry goods, spices, or household storage.
The piece features a fitted lid and retains a rich, timeworn surface with visible brushwork and turning marks, adding to its authentic character. A visible age crack in the lid speaks to its hand-crafted construction and long history of use.
