The pitcher is the centerpiece of the set, featuring an expressive sculptural dragon form with a dramatic dark-glazed neck, head, and sweeping handle above a warm earth-toned body. The coordinating wide basin creates an impressive presentation and makes the set particularly well suited as a statement piece on a console, sideboard, large table, or display cabinet.

Kenneth George represents a later generation of the Sanford branch of the celebrated Cole pottery family. He learned the craft within the family tradition, working alongside his grandmother Neolia Cole Womack and her sister Celia Cole at Cole’s Pottery in Sanford. The longtime Sanford pottery operation has since closed, giving surviving signed works from this branch an added historical and regional interest.
