Rare Pair Antique Gorham American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Cologne Bottles 7.5
Made in USA c1890-1910.
Each Approx. 7 3/8" High to Top of Stopper Finial x 4 3/4" Diameter x 4 3/4" Deep, 2.51 lb.
Spectacular, heavy matching pair of authentic American Brilliant Period (ABP) cut glass cologne/large perfume bottles, dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian era circa 1890–1910.
These exceptional museum-quality pieces represent a historic collaboration between a premier American glass house (such as Hawkes or Dorflinger) and the legendary Gorham Manufacturing Company.
One bottle and stopper set features the authentic, elegant acid-etched script "G" trademark used by Gorham to designate their premium luxury collection lines.
Deeply hand-cut geometric diamond cross-hatching and strawberry diamond motifs that catch the light with brilliant rainbow prisms.
Classic wide, bulbous sphere "puff" body designed beautifully for vanity display.
Includes both original, heavy multi-faceted spherical finial stoppers with hand-ground plugs.
One Bottle features the distinct cursive Gorham "G" hallmark acid-stamped directly on the top apron of the glass neck, as well as on the flat bottom of the stopper plug. This serves as definitive proof of the pair's luxury heritage.
Excellent antique condition overall, showing beautifully. Exceptionally clear, bright, and vibrant. No internal clouding or "glass sickness. Remarkably sharp hand-cut facets. No major chips or cracks. Only normal, microscopic "flea bites" or pinpoints along a few sharp ridge intersections consistent with over a century of careful handling. Top edges and stopper edges have normal microscopic 'flea bites'. Bases have booth, polished bottom rims showing appropriate, fine shelf-wear scratches confirming true antique age. Normal wear from use and age.
