Rare late 19th-century apothecary bottle in deep cobalt blue glass, retaining its matching ground glass stopper and original black and gold paper label inscribed “Tinctura Erythr: Coca”.
The bottle displays attractive irregularities in the glass around the neck, base and underside, consistent with period manufacture. Its deeply recessed and uneven base, thick cobalt glass and hand-finished appearance give the piece strong antique character.
The ornate pharmacy label is decorated with historic pharmaceutical motifs and retains a beautiful aged gold surface, with wear and small losses consistent with age.
A striking and unusual object for an antique pharmacy collection, cabinet of curiosities or decorative interior.
