This piece dates from the early twentieth century, when the Florentine style became very popular during the Hollywood Regency Period (between the 1920s and the 1950s). It is rich in ornate, intricate, opulent Florentine detail featuring a strong contrast between the brightness of the gold and the darkness of hand-painted black background floral motif overlays on the top, sides, and drawers. An elaborate, raised filigree texture covers most of the surface.
