Beautiful 2-drawer, walnut commode by John Widdicomb. The chest is decorated with stencils in gold and black of flowers, vines and swags in the Venetian style. Bronze hardware on the drawers and ormolu on the chamfered corners.
MARKINGS: John Widdicomb label inside top drawer, as shown.
MADE in USA, mid to late 20th C.
MEASUREMENTS: 38" x 16" x 32.5" tall.
Very good pre-owned condition. The bottom left tip of the lower draw appears to be glued (see photo). There are marks on the top as seen in photos, as well as normal surface wear. There are also marks on the front of the legs.
