Hand-carved in France, the commode is topped by a white Carrara marble with gray veining. The marble is three-quarters of an inch thick with canted front corners that mirror the angular edges of the main body. A belt drawer with two round pulls is set between two thin ogee moldings, with the lower edging providing a separation to the three tiers of main drawers below. Each of the four drawers, as well as the thick apron at the bottom have intricate burl graining that gives a darker tone to the rich, brown patina of the wood. The result is a stunning Louis Philippe-style commode that can be integrated with traditional antique furniture or paired with more modern designs. See less
