This is a gorgeous antique American Victorian Eastlake marble top chest, nightstand, washstand or commode dating to the late 1800s.
Crafted in walnut with beautiful figured burl walnut drawer fronts, the piece features incised carved details, paneled sides, ornate brass hardware, hand-cut dovetailed drawers, cabinet storage, and a striking reddish marble top with matching backsplash and side splashes.
The combination of richly figured wood, substantial architectural moldings, original-style period hardware, and dramatic marble makes this an especially attractive example of late 19th-century Victorian furniture. Originally designed as a washstand, it would also make a wonderful bar cabinet, bathroom vanity, nightstand, or decorative storage piece.
Solid, sturdy, and functional, with cosmetic imperfections consistent with age and use.
