19th century burl walnut commode from France.
This is a lovely piece. The top is made from beautifully grained walnut, with slight shrinkage on the left side of the top surface from age and use. The top has a lovely beveled edge, and follows down to simple sides, also with lovely grained walnut and applied moldings to give a nice depth to the piece.
The case has five drawers, the bottom drawer hidden in the model base, and the drawer fronts are made from exquisitely book matched burl walnut. The base is banded and the case is raised on shaped feet, which are in perfect keeping with the feel of the commode.
