A desk designed by Vittorio Parigi and Nani Prina for Molteni in the 1970s, characterised by a chrome-plated tubular metal structure and a fitted top in moulded black plastic. The design brings together the writing surface, storage compartments and lighting within a single compact element, reflecting the functional approach to integrated furniture developed during the period.
The upper section is organised around a large glass writing surface set into the moulded plastic body and designed to be lifted, with a series of storage compartments incorporated directly into the structure. Along the rear edge, a sequence of circular openings provides additional space for small objects, while an adjustable lamp is integrated into the side of the desk through a slender metal stem and a small chrome-plated reflector. The contrast between the glossy black surface and the reflective metal elements reinforces the distinctly technical character of the design.
The base consists of two continuous chrome-plated tubular supports connected at the front by a crossbar that also functions as a footrest, with a ribbed black element covering its central section. The visually light metal structure contrasts with the more substantial upper body, creating a balance between the functional requirements of the workstation and a strongly recognisable formal language.
Condition: Good overall condition, some scratches on the glass and plastic structure.
