What made you passionate about interior design?
My passion for interior design stems from my upbringing as a first-generation American, where there was a strong emphasis on pride in our home and creating a safe space that reflected our heritage. This instilled in me a love for designing elevated, luxurious spaces that feel lived-in and deeply personal, mirroring the unique identities and stories of my clients. It’s about more than aesthetics; it’s about creating environments where families and loved ones can make lasting memories together.

How’d you get your start in interior design?
This goes back to a very young age; design and artistry run in my blood. My great grandfathers, grandfather, and father were all creatives, from fine artists to skilled trade workers. As a child, I was always rearranging/designing my room, from applying new wall paint to incorporating custom furniture that my dad would build from my sketches or images, to hanging magazine tear-outs of famous artworks on my walls. Prior to launching my own design firm, I attended grad school at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and undergrad for Fine Arts, Design also earning a degree in Art Education.

What do you find most compelling about Chairish?
What I find most compelling about Chairish is its strong alignment with our design firm’s values, particularly in the blend of the new and the old. We feel that a well designed space should always include new and antique or vintage pieces. Chairish’s platform excels in curating exceptional collections, enabling us to connect with the finest selections and industry experts from across the nation.

How does sustainability factor into your design choices and love of vintage?
In our design firm, sustainability is a key consideration, guiding us to make environmentally responsible choices. We blend the new with the old, finding that while contemporary products from our vendor partners are essential, it’s the antique and vintage pieces that truly infuse soul into a space. The rich history and exceptional old world craftsmanship of these pieces not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also provide a narrative depth that our clients cherish.

Favorite way to create a statement-making moment in a room?
To create a statement-making moment in a room, I embrace bold contrasts that ignite the senses. I love infusing a room with an unexpected twist, which you can achieve in a few ways—the more the better!  From a striking piece of original art, to a vivid splash of color, or a patterned wallpaper that captivates and intrigues. When you layer these elements it’s the perfect recipe for creating a statement-moment that’s not just seen, but deeply felt.

Do you have any go-to color palettes and color combos?
Absolutely! I often draw inspiration from the natural world, which is reflected in our brand’s palette using earthy greens and terracotta, to dark and moody charcoal creating a warm and organic feel. Outside of our go-to palette, a saturated blue is an excellent choice. Its rich and deep tones offer a timeless neutrality, making it incredibly versatile in design.

What advice do you have for first-time clients about making their spaces truly personal?
As an expert, my advice to first-time clients is to trust in our high-touch design process, which is meticulously tailored to explore and understand their unique design aesthetics. Clients often have a clear sense of what they like; our role is to provide the guidance necessary to translate these preferences into a cohesive well designed space that mirrors their personality, history, and heritage. This approach ensures that each space is not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply personal and reflective of the client’s individual story.
