You might say I’m a third-generation antique seeker and buyer. I recollect fond memories of my grandmother’s house, it was primarily English, very English. I loved seeing her shine and polish her furniture and dust her Staffordshire treasures. And my mother imitated her style, but she scoured markets and even drive bys or yard sales, all the while having an exquisite eye. I can’t tell you how young I was when I could distinguish the different type of Toby mugs and good Blue Willow China. We eventually inherited some of grandma’s antiques, her Queen Ann mahogany table and chairs are even mine today. An antique piece, like this grounds me with its sense of history, and remembrance of its beloved owners.
I deviate somewhat to their style, as I have a tendency towards pieces with a French influence, a little less staunch more laissez-faire than my ancestor style somewhat but still love and have a Georgian chest! All the while though, I never surrendered or fell trap to new trends, but stayed true to old is king. A grand old piece grounds a room. Now, I’m a firm believer that old is back again and even welcomed by the current generation! This thrills me!
I opened my shop to feature some of the items that I grew up seeing aimed at those with similar interest or collectors or for those first-time buyers of vintage or antiques. I additionally strive to find items with unique details, looks as it has a history or just the right amount of a patinaed look and of course, items that were previously well cared for. I hope you enjoy browsing the shop and reading about the history of the pieces in my description. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.
