Featuring a rare, naturally bent-twig handleand a perfectly executed 'God’s Eye' (diamond) weave at the handle joints, this piece exhibits the hallmarks of a 19th-century master artisan.
Hand-crafted from split oak splints, the basket has achieved a stunning, naturally oxidized honey-grey patina that only comes with over a century of age. Its classic double-lobed 'buttocks' shape is tight, sturdy, and in remarkable condition for its age. The twig handle similarly is specifically smooth and worn from a century of use.
