This is a great little rocker from the Arts & Crafts period. It has a nice patina on the oak construction which uses both regular sawn oak for the base, and quarter sawn oak for the slats. Because it was specifically made for sewing, it is a small profile with no arms and a sewing drawer on the right side of the sitter below the seat. The drawer has a large compartment and 3 smaller ones with a spool rack on one side (see photo). The rocker itself does not take up a lot of space. The dimensions are:
Height 35"
Seat height 15"
Seat width 17"
Seat Depth 16"
Total depth of piece including runners 27 1/2"
The rocker was purchased at an antique auction a few years ago in New Mexico. The seat cover was re-done before I purchased it with a faux brown leather. It does have some scratches on it also (see photo). You would probably want to recover with real leather or your choice of fabric. Otherwise, the chair is in good condition. It has a Stickley style design, but I do not see a maker's mark. There may be something under the seat cover that I have not investigated. Overall, it is a lovely piece that attracts attention.

An imperfection in the wood in front seat base. The panel underneath the sewing drawer is unfinished and shows wear, but not visible anyway. Good condition overall - especially for being over 100 years old. less
