A curated set of four professional-grade Zhonghua Hubi (Lake Brushes) sourced from the historic Huzhou region. These brushes feature authentic natural animal hair nibs—including soft goat and resilient weasel (traditionally called "wolf")—offering a perfect balance for calligraphy or sumi-e painting. As New Old Stock (NOS), they have been preserved in their original factory state. Presented in its original emerald green silk brocade box.
Dimensions: 11" L x 2" W x 1" H.
Condition Summary: Excellent vintage condition. These are "New Old Stock" and have never been used; brush heads retain their original factory sizing. Minor manufacturing artifacts, including slight glue traces at the ferrule and age-appropriate character on the toggles, are present and consistent with authentic period production.

Regarding the presentation box: there is visible surface wear to the silk brocade exterior, including minor fraying at the corners and subtle "scuffing" to the silk fibers consistent with long-term storage and handling. The internal green silk lining remains vibrant. I have noted the factory-original glue artifacts at the ferrule-to-wood interface. The white toggles are secure but show light oxidation. less
