Small table cabinet veneered with mahogany, with nine drawers and a central door, crowned by a later added pyramidal finial. The drawer fronts are decorated with fine inlaid marquetry in light-colored wood, probably maple or pear, featuring stylized cityscapes: gateways, arcades, towers, and palm trees. This type of architectural marquetry is associated with the South German or Tyrolean cabinet-maker tradition of the 17th and 18th centuries, and more specifically with a series of small devotional cabinets depicting architecture from the Holy Land. The interior bears the characteristics of 18th-century construction. The finial and possibly the sides and back were added later and presumably date from the 19th century.
