Presented is a rare, monumental-scale centerpiece vessel from the celebrated "Carnevale" (Carnival/Rainbow) series by the legendary Venetian master Archimede Seguso. Produced in the late 1980s, this series is a masterclass in the Fasce (banded) technique, reimagining traditional Murano colorfulness with a postmodern, high-energy aesthetic.
This isn't just a vase; it is a 10-pound architectural sculpture. The body is composed of heavy-gauge clear glass, fused with vibrant, overlapping ribbons of cobalt blue, emerald green, and radiant amber. The composition is punctuated by signature multi-colored Murrine "rosettes," a hallmark of Seguso’s work from this era. The sheer scale—standing 15” tall and 15.5” wide—makes it one of the largest examples of the Carnevale series available on the market today.
Key Attributes:
Maker: Archimede Seguso (Murano, Italy)
Series: Carnevale / Carnival (Circa 1987-1990)
Technique: Fasce with Applied Murrine
Weight: ~10.0 lbs (unpackaged)
Dimensions: 15.5” W x 15” H x 6” D
Base: Highly polished "mirror" finish, characteristic of Seguso’s late-century furnace.
Overall: Excellent Vintage Condition.
Detail: The glass remains crystal clear with exceptional color saturation. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The rim is smooth and original. Light, age-appropriate shelf wear to the polished base, which acts as a testament to its significant weight and authenticity.
