Crafted in Mexico circa 1980, the substantial round bowl features a warm hand-rubbed wood finish, a projecting side handle, and five polished cast iron birds perched along the rim.

The charming birds are individually modeled in slightly different poses, giving the piece a playful, animated character while contrasting beautifully with the rich brown tones and visible grain of the wood. The shallow circular form makes the bowl equally suited for use as a decorative centerpiece, fruit bowl, serving piece, or tabletop catchall.

Jan Barboglio is known for furnishings and decorative accessories that combine hand-worked wood, iron, glass, and other natural materials with influences drawn from Mexico and the American Southwest.

Excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Natural variations, surface wear, and minor oxidation to the metal birds are consistent with the handmade character of the piece.
