Imagine an Hindu Warrior mounting his horse to ready for battle in the late 19th century…This fully enclosed bronze stirrup allowed for a rider to stand, brace for impact and put the full momentum of the horse into a blow, fundamentally changing cavalry tactics of the era. The stirrup features two stylized peacocks on either side of the top ring. The inside has engraved scroll work. In excellent condition with some verdigris. No damage or repairs.
