Stunning Blue Murano Sommerso Bowl
Breathtaking, authentic Murano art glass console bowl, dating from the 1950's-1960's. This massive statement piece features the iconic Sommerso (submerged) technique, showcasing a vibrant, deep cobalt blue glass layered beautifully over a rich golden-amber globular base.
The bowl features a dramatic, organic "ruffled" or free-form rim that catches the light from every angle. This is a substantial, high-quality piece of Italian craftsmanship, weighing solid 6lbs, indicative of the heavy lead glass used in premium Murano factories during the MCM-Century era.
Technique: Authentic Sommerso, Cobalt Blue/Aquamarine encased in clear glass with a warm Amber/Topaz base. Free-form ruffled rim with heavy-polished spherical base. Which features a polished pontil mark on the confirming it's hand-blown origin.
In excellent vintage condition. No Chips, Crack, or deep scratches (There is a fine hair scratch on the base as shown in one of the photos) Only light age-appropriate shelf wear on the bottom of the base (Please see photo's for detail and request addition photo's if needed for they are part of my description).
