This regal pair of seated emperor and empress figures radiates imperial elegance and craftsmanship. Each figure is meticulously detailed, from the ornate headpieces to the dragons curling along their thrones. Though likely cast in a mold initially, the surface shows clear signs of hand tooling—particularly in the intricate carving of robes, jewelry, and the extraordinary thrones with dragon and phoenix motifs.
Standing 12 inches tall, these figures are made of solid resin and finished in a warm ivory tone reminiscent of antique carved bone or ivory, though they are modern in material. The male figure weighs 4 lbs and the female 3 lbs 12.1 oz. Each measures 6 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep.
They were purchased from a woman whose grandmother acquired them many years ago. Their condition is excellent with no cracks or visible repairs, and they present beautifully from all angles.
This striking duo would be a commanding presence on a bookshelf, altar, or display shelf in any global or chinoiserie-inspired interior.
