Vladimir Kanevsky is an extraordinary artist whose creative talent and technical mastery are widely admired in the world of porcelain art. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Kanevsky worked as an architect before immigrating to New York in 1989 with only 100 US dollars in his pocket. His artistic journey began as a hobby with painting and sculpture, but he only discovered his true passion when he took on the challenge of mastering porcelain - a material with which he initially had no experience.
His tremendous skill is evident in his ability to create lifelike, almost life-like porcelain flowers. Kanevsky initially experimented in his kitchen until he perfected the technique to reproduce delicate flowers such as lilies, hyacinths and roses. His approach is based on meticulous research: he scans real flowers, breaks them down into individual parts to understand their inner structure and uses this knowledge to create true-to-life sculptures. Despite the fragility of the material, he personally controls every step, creating works of exceptional precision and natural beauty.
His works, known as the Vladimir Collection, are the epitome of perfect craftsmanship and artistic sensitivity. Kanevsky succeeds in capturing the textural diversity, delicate colors and intricate details of living flowers in porcelain. His ability to imitate the aesthetic and structural elegance of nature is a testament to his impressive technical and artistic expertise.
Kanevsky's works have gained international recognition and he works with renowned companies such as Meissen to develop his art to the highest level. Despite his success, he remains in control of every step of his creative process, which underlines his extraordinary dedication and pursuit of perfection. His artistic ability to transform nature into porcelain makes him one of the most outstanding and admired porcelain artists of our time.
