The work is stamped “P. Chenet” at the rear of the base and with Chenet’s crown shaped mark on the bottom.

Pierre Chenet was a celebrated Art Deco sculptor in Paris during the early twentieth century. This pair of Art Deco bronze nude female statues is characteristic of Chenet’s exploration of contemporary Western figures combined with primitive Orientalist imagery and form.
