1889 Grand and imposing chime carved wooden cartel and enameled cartridges by SAMUEL MARTI & CIE.
I present to your attention a magnificent clock called a cartel. The walnut wood case, carved columns, and decorative carved appliqués adorn this clock. Inside the clock is a movement stamped A.1 on the internal plate by Samuel Marti & Cie.
Samuel Marti of Paris, Clockmaker. French clockmaker in the mid 1800’s from Paris at Le Pays de Montbeliard. He set up in business with Roux and Japy Freres in 1863 to market their clock movements
The Black Forest clockmakers bought products from other regions that they could not obtain in the Black Forest. A town with which trade was brisk was Montbéliard in France. From there, e.g. movements from the horlogerie Samuel Marti & Cie.

Antique clocks are not new clocks! A centenary clock may not be perfect, don't expect it to look like new. Please review carefully the photographs that are part of the description and which best represents the condition of the item. Color may vary slightly depending on screen settings and minor surface scratches.
Attention! For the purpose of safe transportation, the goods are delivered partially disassembled. You will need to assemble it by yourself (screws included).
NOTE: Although the clock is internally complete and the movement has been serviced, I cannot guarantee that an antique clock will perform flawlessly upon delivery to you.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
