A Fine Important Russian Paris
Bronze Patinated Malachite Pendulum Coronation Clock with a Paris movement. 'Psyche Crowning Cupid' from Greek Mythology. REDUCED FROM $68,900. Featuring Finely Detailed Patinated Bronzes of Winged Cupid & Psyche after Claude Michallon (1751-1799) Standing On Either Side Of a Domed Malachite Plinth Enclosing the Gilt Beveled Glass Dial with Guilloche Trim. Psyche is Crowning Cupid-- mounted on a Malachite Conforming Rectangular Platform Base supported on gilt bronze winged Claw Feet. The movement with anchor escapement, silk thread suspension. It has been totally re-conditioned, in good working order. 1828 date marked on the springs-there are also initials of the clockmaker-T.N. #28142 A clock such as this was purchased by the richest clientele including the duc de Richelieu, the marquis de Martel and viscount de la Rochefoucauld.
