Mahogany and brass inlay tall case clock by John Watt, Clockmaker, Irvine, Scotland circa 1827. Depicts the grand battles from the Napoleonic war. A tribute to the Royal Navy, the clock's chime is that of a ship's bell and strikes upon the hour.
Painted pendulum, original weights, original winder, this clock is in spectacular shape. It possesses the original, delicate hand forged gilded hands.
There is a small indent to the side of the bonnet that blends into the wood and looks like it is part of it. There is also a small hole that is only seen when the bonnet is opened for winding.
Majestic and stately it is a commanding clock, and when it chimes with the crystal clear sound of a great ship's bell, it becomes a piece of history.

There is a small indent on the side of the bonnet, but it looks like it is part of the wood. There is a small hole that can only be seen when you open the bonnet door to wind the clock. When properly balanced on an even floor, the clock was in working order with an hourly beautiful ship's bell chime. less
