Its richly textured surface combines repeating diamond-shaped facets with small raised details, catching the light and creating depth across the rounded silhouette.

The leafy surround rests on a turquoise pedestal and square plinth, edged in a contrasting cream finish. Warm metallic gold and vivid blue-green give the piece a distinctive decorative presence, combining classical ornament with the colorful glamour of Hollywood Regency.

Its botanical finial form recalls European garden ornament and Italian decorative traditions, while the gold-and-turquoise palette would complement interiors inspired by Tony Duquette and Dorothy Draper. It also shares an aesthetic affinity with the classical decorative accessories associated with Maitland-Smith; these references describe its style, and the maker is unidentified.

An attractive accent for a mantel, console, bookcase, or entry table, displayed alone or layered with books, porcelain, and other collected objects. The underside is lined in green felt.
