A beautiful collection of two antique Flow Blue serving bowls, each featuring the wonderfully blurred cobalt decoration and ornate detailing that make late 19th- and early 20th-century Flow Blue so collectible.
The first is a Johnson Brothers Eclipse oval vegetable or serving bowl, made in England around the turn of the 20th century. It features deep flowing blue transfer decoration accented with gold along the rim.
The second is a round Flow Blue bowl with a detailed floral center, ornate scalloped rim and gilded highlights. The backstamp is present but quite blurred and difficult to decipher. We believe it may be Ridgway, but have not been able to confirm the maker, so it is being sold as unidentified antique Flow Blue.
These pieces have condition issues from their long lives, but they remain wonderfully decorative examples of antique Flow Blue. They would be beautiful incorporated into a collected blue-and-white display, stacked with other antique transferware, or displayed on a plate wall.
