This octagonal side table in bamboo and rattan is finished in vermillion and oxblood faux tortoiseshell, built up in layers of mottled lacquer until the red glows from within. The solid bamboo keeps its rhythmic nodes, and the woven rattan panels take the color and the light.

A single drawer sits above a cabinet, and the inside of each is finished in the same deep, mottled lacquer. The table is finished on all sides, so it can stand in the center of a room as well as against a wall. It measures 21.5" wide, 15.5" deep, and 21.5" high, a good height beside a deep club chair, as a drink table, or as a low commode. Made in the late 20th century, in the style of Gabriella Crespi, Tony Duquette, and Dorothy Draper, it suits Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, and Palm Beach Regency rooms. The finish is newly painted and hand finished in our Atelier.
