Paul Frankl was an Austrian-American architect and furniture designer known for his Art Deco and Mid Century Modern designs, particularly his skyscraper furniture and stacked rattan pieces. His work with rattan, like this desk became highly recognizable and sought after. Frankl came to New York just before the depression after a great run designing his skyscraper furniture line.
