One of a kind, Stacked bamboo with mahogany top and drawers. Restored to the original 1930’s golden honey shellac finish with tortoise shell look to bamboo. Just beautiful! This piece is truly a family heirloom. Mid-century design with the perfect size for writing or modern computer system. Well made with intact rattan wrapped joinery and stable cross bar under desk. Paul Frankl was an Austrian-American architect and furniture designer known for his Art Deco and Mid Century Modern designs, particularly his skyscraper furniture and stacked rattan pieces. His work with rattan, like this desk became highly recognizable and sought after. Frankl came to New York just before the depression after a great run designing his skyscraper furniture line. He designed and decorated the homes of Hollywood's top stars. See less
