A beautiful antique burr walnut leather top kidney shaped desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1920’s period.
The quality is outstanding, this has a beautiful design and is a very practical, quite petite size. The kidney shaped top has a gadrooned edge, an inset green leather writing surface with gold tooling and walnut banding around the edges. There are three drawers which have beautiful burr walnut grain patterns, detailed brass handles and nicely dovetailed joints. This stands on cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carving at the knees, terminating in claw and ball feet. The back is also nicely polished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with just some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there.
