These charming figurines from the German firm Goebel are wonderful examples of mid-century design. Each figurine depicts a stylized woman, with delicate, serene facial expression and long wavy hair. The left lady wears a shiny red dress with geometric relief and turquoise necklace, the right one an olive green dress with floral pattern and pearl necklace, her hair glazed bright yellow. The combination of matte and glossy surfaces gives them a playful, decorative character. These figures are ideal as a striking accent in a vintage interior - on a sideboard, bookshelf or as a duo on a side table. Goebel, founded in 1871 in Germany, gained world fame with the Hummel figurines. In the 1950s-70s, the brand also made modern ceramics that are loved today by collectors and retro design enthusiasts. These ladies belong to a less common series and are extremely beautifully made, pure craftsmanship!
