What made you passionate about interior design? How’d you get your start?

Our love for art, travel, and design has always been at the heart of who we are. Beth studied interior design at The Art Institute, while Carolina pursued the same passion at Texas Christian University. We first crossed paths working at a commercial design firm with projects spanning the country, which is an experience that taught us how to run projects seamlessly and deliver them with the highest level of professionalism.

But what we both wanted was something more personal. We dreamed of creating spaces that were as individual as the people who lived in them, and of building a brand that approached design as an experience rather than just a service. In 2007, that dream became Pulp Design Studios, a place where we could push creative boundaries while staying true to the unique stories of our clients’ lives.

What do you find most compelling about Chairish?

What truly defines our interiors is the hunt for pieces you won’t see anywhere else. We believe a home should feel like a reflection of the people who live there, layered with personality, memory, and a touch of the unexpected. That’s why we’re always sourcing one-of-a-kind finds that tell a story. Chairish has become one of our favorite destinations for those special treasures, the kinds of pieces that instantly elevate a room and make it feel authentically yours.

How does sustainability factor into your design choices and love of vintage?

We’re always on the hunt for pieces that feel rare and unforgettable, and vintage delivers every time. These finds bring an effortless sense of character and history to a home, nothing mass-produced can compete. The right vintage piece can completely transform a room, making it feel layered, original, and impossible to replicate.

Favorite way to create a statement-making moment in a room?

We’re endlessly inspired by pieces that catch the eye and spark conversation, especially incredible art. Some of our Pulp clients come with their own incredible collections, while others trust us to curate art that completes their homes. Our best advice? Choose what speaks to you. When you fall in love with a piece, it naturally reflects your taste. The colors, the mood, and the style will always find their place in your home.

Do you have any go to color palettes and color combos?

Our clients come to us for interiors that feel distinctive, and we love delivering that through bold, moody color palettes. Black, in particular, has a magic to it. It can wrap a room in cozy intimacy or create a moment of pure drama, depending on how it’s used. Those fearless choices are the ones that leave a lasting impression, transforming a space into something truly unforgettable.

What advice do you have for first-time clients to make their space truly personal?

Your home should feel like you—not a cookie-cutter version of someone else’s style. We encourage our clients to think beyond the expected and explore what truly excites them, creating spaces that are as unique as the people who live in them. The goal is a home that’s both inviting and inspiring—the kind of place you can’t wait to walk into at the end of the day.
