Tiara Exclusives was started as a home party plan in July of 1970. The company’s first collection consisted of the Sandwich pattern, manufactured from the original moulds designed by Indiana Glass in the 1920s. Introduced in 1970, Sandwich was initially offered only in the color ruby; golden amber was the second color offered later that year. Additional colors were introduced over the years which included crystal (clear glass), colonial blue (bicentennial blue - 1976 only) and chantilly green, just to name a few. Interestingly, Tiara Exclusives was not a glassware producing company. The company was owned by Lancaster Colony Corporation which also owned Indiana Glass Company. It was Indiana Glass that produced much but not all of Tiara Exclusives’ glassware. This beautiful quartet of berry bowls was produced in 1973. Each bowl measures 4¾” x 1¾” D/H; together the set weighs 1 lb. 14 oz.; unmarked. In excellent condition with little to no visible wear. A few inclusions that are inherent in any glassware and are original to the manufacturer may be seen (if you look hard enough) which do not affect the beauty or utility of the bowls. For a collector of Tiara’s golden amber Sandwich, this delightful set should be a must have or the perfect gift for someone who is.
