We think he should be known as the Protector or Keeper of the Ships or Vessels. How about " Keeper of the Fleet" ? Reminiscent of the historical coastal and grotto art styles (such as shellwork in the manner of Anthony Redmile or classical figures like David and sea deities). He is heavily encrusted with an amazing array of seashells and has schooner at the top of his head. Very unique and artistic and sure to be a conversation piece as well as a beautiful accent piece. The highly decorative practice of covering objects entirely in shells is known as Shellwork. It saw a major revival in the 18th and 19th centuries as a popular pastime and decorative art for the upper class. It was called Grotto Style. Another style label is Whimsical Regency—a maximalist style that favors high glamour, dramatic statements, and a touch of eccentric whimsy. See less
