This is a beautiful pair of Vietri 8.5” decorative wall plates or dessert dishes. These were hand painted in Italy and the human touch is clearly exhibited on both plates. There is a very small amount of blue paint that ended up in left hand corner of 6 cherry plate, it’s very slight and part of what occurrs in hand painted items, it is not considered a defect. The plates are in very fine vintage condition with typical hand painting flaws, (please examine photos carefully) This takes nothing from their beauty and often happens with older hand painted majolica pieces.
The disappearing cherries pattern was originally 4 dishes sold separately. One dish shows the cherries full and prior to being eaten and the other dish shows the remains after eating of just the pits and stem.
