This impressive vessel is crafted in the style of ancient Chinese "Hu" (壶) bronzes. It boasts a beautiful, heavily patinated surface that mimics centuries of age, contrasted by intricate gold inlay (Cuojin) detailing.
Key Features:
Form: A classic baluster shape with a flared mouth and a spreading foot. The neck is flanked by two stylized handles shaped like phoenix or bird heads, symbolizing grace and good fortune.
Decoration: The body is profusely decorated with gold-inlaid motifs, including archaic scrollwork, stylized dragon/phoenix patterns, and ancient Chinese characters (likely pseudo-archaic script). Bands of gold ring the rim and base.
Material & Patina: Made of heavy solid bronze with a deep, mottled green and brown patina, giving it a genuine antique, excavated look.
Weight & Size: Substantial weight of 1500g (3.3 lbs) and a height of 22 cm (8.7 inches) make it a perfect statement piece for a console table, bookshelf, or as part of a Chinoiserie collection.
