A classic pair of bistro chairs with wooden seats, likely created by Michael Thonet and manufactured in the ZPM Radomsko factory in Poland. All that remains of the manufacturer's mark is some faint lettering including "POLAND". Chairs have their original dark finish.
Thonet chairs of this era were identified by the factory location and numbered but did not typically have the Thonet imprint. On this basis the chairs would likely have been produced between 1910-1914 in the Polish factory.

Solid wood is a simple matter to refinish if desired, no veneers here. One of the chair's 'hearts' has disconnected at the apex-- see photos. These can be repaired by a craftsperson using a process of steaming and bending, hence the term bentwood. Or leave as is, the chair back remains strong. less
