The body is hand-formed from warm ochre duanni (yellow clay) and layered with dark brown to near-black slip to simulate rough bark, knot holes, and wood grain across the exterior.

The lid is fitted with a sculpted, gnarled pine-branch finial that curls naturally over the rim. The spout rises as a forked branch, while the handle follows the same twisted, knotted-branch logic. Relief carving on the body depicts pine needles and a small bamboo spray, rendered in contrasting dark clay for a quiet, scholarly literati aesthetic.
