Adams & Sons red transferware handled cake plate or serving dish, featuring a detailed pastoral landscape in rich pink-red transfer decoration.

The design closely resembles the Old English Rural Scenes pattern, with its charming English countryside scene surrounded by decorative checkerboard borders and a molded square form with integrated handles.

The underside bears a W. Adams & Sons / England backstamp. This style of printed ribbon-and-wreath mark is associated with Adams wares from the late 19th into the early 20th century, making this a wonderful example of antique English transferware.
