This set of 12 Petite Blue Willow Plates are from the late 1940s when the Allied Forces occupied Japan, as marked on the back. They feature a gorgeous Blue Willow landscape with all four elements of the design, the Pagoda, the Bridge, the Birds and of course the Willow Tree. This is the most dramatic Willow Tree we have ever come across. It’s very unique. We curated this from an Estate Sale and the served in the war and was stationed in Japan afterwards. We believe these were a gift he brought home for his wife. Of note, these are probably saucers, but there were no cups in the house. Additionally, we have never come across saucers with the design across the full center. So it’s somewhat of a mystery. But with the additional gold diamond crisscross band on the edge, these are way too pretty to sit a cup on. We would absolutely use them as petite plates for first courses or a dessert service. Beautiful set.
We are featuring a collection of MAD ABOUT MOD Furniture and Home Décor on our front page. We have wanted to showcase our modern pieces for a while and as the weather turns cooler, we thought this was the perfect time as you look to add Fall refresh pieces to your home. Don’t tell anyone, but we are also launching our vintage jewelry and accessories collection at the end of September. It will be a soft launch, so you will want to ‘cherry-pick’ the best pieces before the big launch in November. Finally, we are also going to mix in some of our fabulous holiday collection as the seasons unfold. We sell more holiday items than any shop on Chairish. Checkout our Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas selections. Click on VINTAGE HOME to get to our shop. If you purchase more than one item, we COMBINE SHIP whenever possible to reduce shipping costs. Chairish works with UPS on the back end to refund your savings after delivery. You can also message us with your zip code to see if we can get a lower Seller Managed UPS or truck delivery price. Thank you for visiting. Stay as long as you like. Offers welcome.
