Stunning Art Deco/ Hollywood Regency style fireplace screen from the 1950's. It has a unique 'peacock' design with nine 'feathers' that open and close. The cutout filigree design catches the light brilliantly and casts a very decorative shadow when in front of a fireplace. The base is a cameo image of a griffin or similar animal and the top has a brass finial. There are levers on each side to hold the feathers in the upright closed position. The brass has a general overall patina from age giving it that awesome vintage look. It works well with nice ease of movement. The piece does not have a maker's mark. This gorgeous fireplace screen will not disappoint.
Open dimensions are 37-1/2" wide x 2.75" deep x 24-1/2" high.
Closed dimensions are 8-1/2" wide x 2.75" deep x 24-1/2" high.
