This vintage West German mantel clock is a bold decorative piece with beautiful old-world character. The ceramic case has an ornate Rococo-inspired silhouette with raised scrollwork, floral-style detailing, and a glossy green glaze accented by vivid turquoise speckling. The front dial features Roman numerals, a gold-tone bezel, ornate hands, and a decorative black-and-gold center medallion.
The clock face is marked “West Germany”, and the back of the movement is marked “Made in Germany.” The back of the ceramic case also has a handwritten inscription that appears to read “Merry Christmas Grandma, Love Mitzie.” This adds a charming personal history to the piece.
