This piece carries weight, both visually and physically. Exceptionally heavy and solid in construction, it settles into a space with authority. Once placed, it becomes part of the room’s structure. Stable, grounded, immovable.

The silhouette is quintessential Amsterdam School: expressive yet controlled. The backrest rises in an arch, sculptural and commanding, while the straight, confident arms are framed by warm wooden uprights. At the front, refined coromandel (Macassar ebony) droplets provide a subtle decorative accent, dark and precise against the geometry of the frame. The arched back and rounded front feet recall the sculptural language seen in works by the Amsterdam School architect Paul Bromberg.

Fully restored and newly upholstered in a deep midnight blue velvet, the chair has been carefully brought into the 21st century. The fabric enriches the architectural form, adding depth and tactility while enhancing comfort to modern standards.
