Rare and authentic 19th-century double school desks manufactured by Orion, marked “Orion 1887 – New York & Buffalo.” These desks are exceptional examples of late-1800s American school furniture, combining solid wood construction with beautifully ornate cast iron bases.
Each desk features original wooden seats, backs, and flip-top writing surfaces with ink well holes intact (on 2 of 4 desks), supported by sculptural cast iron sides marked “No. 5.” The warm aged patina, visible wear, and surface character speak to their long history of use and make them highly desirable decorative antiques.
These desks are both functional and highly decorative, offering true historical presence.
