Great quality early 19th century craftsmanship. Top of the desk (writing surface) is a large hinged lid, which reveals fitted interior with unusually many compartments (please see photos). Front of the desk has one large faux drawer over the length of the desk, smaller drawer above the knee hole door, and 6 drawers total (3 on each side) flanking it. All drawers have bronze pull handles and their original brass locks, dovetailing done beautifully, secondary wood is also good quality. It is in good overall condition, sturdy, recently refinished, showing age / use wear common to materials, however under the polish (please see photos). Size is great to fit anywhere at 29.75" wide, 18.75" deep, and 31" in height, with knee-hole 23" height and 11" wide. Great piece for use in any home or office, in traditional or mid-century modern setting! See less
