This … Read more Vintage 1965, Wedgwood Asia Black Pattern (WW ASIBL) Dinnerware 5-piece place setting Set for 14 with oval Serving Platter. This modernist designed set of white porcelain is distinctive with its simple lines and black Greek key and medallions border accented with gold leaf. The 14 large dinner plates measure 10 3/4" in diameter, the 14 lunch/salad plates 8", the 14 bread plates 6", the 16 saucers 5 3/4", the 14 cups 3 3/8"" and 2 1/2" high. The oval platter measures 13 3/4" wide and 10 3/4" deep. Known primarily for its English-influenced designs, Wedgwood produced several modern patterns during the mid 20th century, of which this one was one. The Greek key motif, coupled with the medallions gives the set an eastern flavor and makes the design contemporary even today. Mix and match the set with Wedgwood black basaltware, French jet glass or embellished gold pieces for a striking and an updated look. See less
